When did you begin competing in Field Trials?
Around 1982.
What made you decide to compete in Field Trials?
We bought a Chessie puppy for our daughter and Linda started training with the breeder and her field trail friends. That dog became 2014 Retriever Hall of Fame inductee, Dual CH AFC JJ’s Jessie.
Who are your training partners at home?
My wife Linda, Tim and Lauren Kreher, John B, Brad and Stacy, Marty, William and Eddy, and others in our group.
What is the origin of your dog’s name?
The Chicago Cubs won the World Series after 108 years then sold/traded their winning players. They were truly “one and done”!!! Rizz is named after the ex-Cubs Captain and first baseman Anthony Rizzo
Tell us an interesting story about your dog.
Rizz’s momma had only been in season once in her life before this breeding. We didn’t know if the breeding would even take when we bred her to NFC AFC Foxx, and we were hoping for ONE puppy. Addie had 12 puppies and a dream was answered!
