Questionnaire
Owner Name: Wendy Buckler & David Barrow

Dog Name: Rumor

When did you begin competing in Field Trials?
Wendy began competing in field trials in 2008 with an old yellow lab named “Daisy” that was gifted to her to practice with until Wendy got her own puppy to train and trial with.

What made you decide to compete in Field Trials?
Having competed in hunt tests for a few years and finding that meeting the standard was fairly simple to achieve, Wendy liked the competitiveness that field trials offered where handlers and dogs received placements based on their performance.

Who are your training partners at home?
My main training partner is David Barrow and we have had the fortunate opportunity to train with many like-minded amateur trainers up and down the east coast of the US.

What is the origin of your dog’s name?
B&B’s Gossip Girl was the name I selected for Rumor because over the years going to field trials you hear the darnedest things about other field trialers and most of it is just “rumors” without much truth.

Tell us an interesting story about your dog.
Rumor believes that my only purpose as her owner/handler is to pay for her entries, feed her and take her to a trial. At that point, she instructs me to hold her beer and watch this!

You and your dog have survived nine series of the National Derby Championship. You are about to come to the line for the 10th series with a chance to be crowned the 2022 National Derby Champion. What song and artist would you want to hear playing as the two of you come to the line?
