When did you begin competing in Field Trials?
I first began competing in field trials this year!
What made you decide to compete in Field Trials?
I decided to compete in field trials because I have always enjoyed the challenge of
competition and wanted to pursue that competition through retriever field trials.
Who are your training partners at home?
At home I train with my girlfriend Claire and my friends Vinny, Adam, and Matt C.
We train together as often as we can and we couldn't have done it without them so I
would like to thank them for their part in our success!
What is the origin of your dog’s name?
I always thought Steal was a cool name but didn't want to spell it Steel like the metal so I
named him Todd’s Five Finger Discount.
Tell us an interesting story about your dog.
Steal has always liked to jump up onto place boards and dog stands. One day I let him
out to use the bathroom and the first thing he saw was my flat top grill, which was off of
course, and he proceeded to leap right up on top of it. He has always been such a fun and goofy dog!
You and your dog have survived nine series of the National Derby Championship. You are about to come to the line for the 10th series with a chance to be crowned the 2022 National Derby Champion. What song and artist would you want to hear playing as the two of you come to the line?
